Let’s Talk Tint

Exploring the different window tint films we use from XPEL

If you’ve ever been a little curious to learn about our window tint offerings, what we use, and how they perform—then read on! This article is for you!

We’ve been using XPEL window tint and paint protection film (PPF, clear bra) for over 14 years. We’ve seen each product perform as promised on multiple cars, including our own. PRIME is the nomenclature XPEL uses for their line of window tint films, which is what we want to focus on today.

We specifically want to talk about XR Plus, XR, and CS Black.

PRIME XR Plus

This is XPEL’s premium multi-layer nano-ceramic window tint film. Here are some of the key signature features:

  • Ceramic Particle Technology
Contains a proprietary blend of ceramic particles to act as a solid barrier to heat.

  • Superior heat rejection
Because of this ceramic particle technology, it provides some of the highest infrared (IR) rejection rates up to 98%. Come check out the demo we have in the store to feel the difference!

  • Greater Clarity
Keeping cool in the past was usually accomplished by choosing a darker shade of tint. However, with multi-layer nano-ceramic technology you don’t have to go darker to block heat.

PRIME XR

Prime XR is a single layer nano-ceramic window tint film that blocks significantly more infrared heat than a standard dyed film. It’s a great choice if you want heat rejection but at a lower price point than Prime XR Plus.

  • Ceramic Particle Technology
Contains a proprietary blend of ceramic particles to act as a solid barrier to heat.

  • Great Heat Rejection
Infrared (IR) rejection rates up to 80%.

  • Greater Clarity
Keeping cool in the past was usually accomplished by choosing a darker shade of tint. However, with multi-layer nano-ceramic technology you don’t have to go darker to block heat.

PRIME CS Black

This is XPEL’s standard dyed window tint film. It is a color-stable dyed window tint. Some benefits of Prime CS are reducing glare, a sleek aesthetic and protection from harmful UV rays. Its infrared rejection comes in at 32%

  • Reduces Glare
Dyed Window Tint reduces the sun's glare, enhancing visibility and reducing eye strain.

  • Sleek Aesthetic
The black color of Dyed Window Tint remains the same over the years and never fades or turns purple.

  • UV Ray Protection
Dyed Window Tint provides SPF 500 protection that effectively blocks over 99% of harmful UV rays

Medical Grade

XR and XR Plus provide SPF 1,000 while CS Black provides SPF 500 protection. Both effectively block 99% of harmful UV rays that can lead to numerous skin cancers, premature aging, and skin cell damage. The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends these window tint films as an effective UV protectant.

Tint Shade/Darkness Levels

We stock five of the most common requested window tint percentages, those of which include: 5% (often referred to as limo tint), 20%, 35%, 50% and 70% (for maximum visibility without sacrificing comfort and heat rejection).

Crystal Clear Signal

With more cars embracing the digital world, we know clear communication is key. All of XPEL’s window tint films will not interfere with radio, cellular, or Bluetooth signals.

Warranty

All of XPEL’s PRIME window tint films come with a limited-lifetime warranty.
